JONESVILLE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The mayor's office in Jonesville has released an update on the situation there with the broken water line. According to this afternoon's update, work is proceeding on the broken water line. The water has not been cut off and probably won't be turned off until some time tomorrow morning, Friday, Feb. 10.
Folks should keep the water drawn up this morning handy - they will most likely be needing it tomorrow.

A 14" waterline is broken, necessitating the repair and the water cutoff.
Also, a reminder that Jonesville is currently under a boil advisory, which means that all water to be used for human consumption needs to be brought to a rolling boil for at least one full minute prior to usage.
This includes drinking water, water for making ice, brushing teeth, and water used in any way with food items, etc.
The boil advisory will remain in effect even after the water supply is turned back on, until the Dept. of Health and Hospitals checks water samples from Jonesville and gives the all clear.
When this is done, the boil advisory will be lifted and announced to the general public.
