RUSTON, La., (KNOE 8 News) - A Lincoln Parish woman has surrendered to Ruston Police in the case of missing church money there.

45-year-old Shelly Ann Grafton worked for the Cook Baptist Church in Ruston from 2004 to 2011 and is accused of misappropriating "hundreds of thousands" of dollars from the church. She was not a member of the church, however.

The charges came after an 8 month investigation by the Ruston Police Department and resulted Ms. Grafton being charged with 22 counts of felony theft and one count of forgery. The investigation is ongoing and the exact amount of the alleged misappropriations has not been released.

Ms. Grafton has been booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
