Salvation Army still needs Angels adopted

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - There's still more than two weeks until Christmas, but there's already a lot of parents signing up with the Salvation Army to help them get the tree they can't afford to get for their kids.

The Salvation Army began registering people last month for the Angle Tree Program. And they report that the number of people needing help is four times greater than in years past.

Here in Monroe, Capt. Becky Gilliam of the Salvation Army says that Angels are being adopted, but there are still close to 200 that still need to be adopted.

Capt. Gilliam adds that angels can be picked up at Pecanland mall and people can still came in or call our office at 105 Hart Street to adopt. Also, the Salvation Army's phone number in Monroe is (318) 325-1755 for those needing more information.
