Official storm reports from last night

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A cold front passing last night and this morning made way for some strong storms around Louisiana and Mississippi. Most of the severe storms remained south and east of the Arklamiss. Multiple tornado warnings were issued by the Weather Service offices in Shreveport, Lake Charles, New Orleans, and Jackson.

A tornado was reportedly touched down near the town of Tangipahoa, La. in Tangipahoa Parish. The tornado took a two-story home 10 feet off its foundation, blew a semi-truck over, and tossed a trampoline away.

Another tornado was reported near the Houma-Terrebone Airport in south Louisiana. Windows at the Ellender Memorial High School were blown our while homes and buildings around the area also sustained damage.

In Mississippi, strong winds caused a tree to fall into the living room of an uninhabited mobile home in Philadelphia (east of Jackson).
