Farmerville man arrested

Posted: Updated:

FARMERVILLE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Two Farmerville men were arrested over the weekend on drug-related charges. One went to jail but the other escaped with his hands handcuffed behind his back.

The Union Parish Sheriff's office advised us this afternoon that the second man, LaDominique D. Gipson was captured within 15 minutes of KNOE airing the UPSO wanted poster on our News.

Malcolm J. Goldsby, 24, of 501 West Bayou St. was booked into the Union Parish Detention Center on charges of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Goldsby is being held on a $15,000 bond.

UPSO has issued warrants for LaDominique D. Gipson, 21, on charges of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, resisting, simple escape and simple theft of the handcuffs.

Sheriff Bob Buckley said a Crime Stoppers tip led deputies to the Sensley Townhouses in Farmerville. The tipster described Goldsby and the vehicle he was driving.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they approached Goldsby and his passenger, Gipson, and asked if they were selling drugs, which the two denied. One deputy said he was going to let his K-9 circle the car at which time Goldsby stated crack cocaine could be found in a cigarette box inside the car.

Both were placed under arrest, but Gipson took off running when a deputy tried putting him inside the patrol unit.

A cash reward is being offered  to information leading to the arrest and conviction of Gipson, Buckley said. Any leads should be called in to Crime Stoppers at 318.368.9679.
