BASTROP, La. (KNOE 8 News) -The State Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control has penalized two north Louisiana businesses accused of selling alcohol and tobacco to minors.
Porterhouse Liquors in Bastrop had its liquor license revoked. The ATC commissioner says the business sold alcohol and tobacco products to teenagers as young as 14 years old. It also had a reputation as a place where minors could go to buy alcohol and cigarettes.
Meanwhile, in Newellton, in Tensas Parish, a bar called "Cuz's Place" has been fined $4,000 and had its liquor license revoked for 30 days. That suspension and fine stems from an investigation into the death of a 16-year-old boy, in a wreck back in June.
Investigators say the victim and at least four other teens were allowed in "Cuz's Place," and were served alcohol, the night of the accident.
