Crime Stoppers: 2001 murder cold case

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A decade has passed since a Monroe man who was just trying to be neighborly paid a dear price for his effort. Police are still looking for his murderer.

In October 2001, Marzell Dyer was trying to help a neighbor during a home invasion at 2814 South Grand Street in Monroe.

Dyer had heard the neighbor's screams. When he ran up to the house, he was shot several times and died at the scene.

Now, ten years later, police are re-interviewing witnesses and want to talk to anyone who may have information about the dyer shooting.

Crime Stoppers of Ouachita will offer a cash reward up to two thousand dollars for information leading to the arrest or grand jury indictment of the person responsible for this crime, or any other felony crime in Ouachita Parish.
