BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - The state Department of Marine Resources is urging boaters to take safety precautions this holiday weekend. A DMR spokesman says boaters need to make sure their vessels and personal watercraft are in proper working order before taking them out on the water and need to have the proper safety equipment on board.

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - An Ocean Springs man is accused of violating his drug-trafficking probation by having $208,410 in drug money, marijuana and products from China used to make and distribute synthetic cannabinoids. Police say Duong is on probation for using or carrying a firearm while distributing ecstasy in Harrison County in 2005.

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (AP) - The Olive Branch airport manager is retiring after 30 years. David Taylor says he's looking into another job option. Taylor had a front-row seat on Olive Branch's growth explosion. The airport today is home to 56 hangars and 160 airplanes.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - The University of Southern Mississippi will unveil a Tornado Relief and Landscape Restoration Honor Wall on Sept. 5. The wall recognizes donors who made significant contributions to the restoration campaign. An EF-4 tornado tore through the Hattiesburg area 17 months ago.
