Movie to be shot at Neville High in Monroe

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) R-Squared Productions is set to shoot its next feature film at Neville High school in Monroe, beginning in June.

‘New Hope' is the film's working title and focuses on teenage friendships, relationships and a basketball team's struggle to rebuild their team after a serious tragedy. The R-Squared team has begun casting and will be searching for actors, crew, and extras predominately in Ouachita Parish and surrounding areas.

Director Rodney Ray envisions ‘Hope' to be a community effort and a chance to build upon the filmmaking lessons over 300 students learned at the R-Squared Film Festival workshops. In February, students from Ouachita, Union, Lincoln, and Morehouse Parishes studied cinematography, sound, production design, directing and acting with the R2 staff.

Anyone interested in working on the film, either as an actor or in a crew role should send an email to info@r2films.net.
