Arrest made in West Monroe hit and run

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A young woman police say was driving with a suspended license has been arrested in the hit and run death of a 29-year-old motorcyclist in West Monroe.

Mitchell Watson was killed when his motorcycle was struck by an SUV on Jersey Street Tuesday evening.

West Monroe police say 20-year-old Ashley Simon made an improper left turn from Arkansas Road.

They say she drove away from the scene of the crash, but later turned herself in.

Simon has a prior DWI conviction.
