ULM, Tulane sign home & home deal

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (AP) - Louisiana-Monroe Athletics Director Bobby Staub says the university has signed a home & home football contract with Tulane that will send the Warhawks to New Orleans in 2012 and will bring the Green Wave to Monroe in 2013.

Staub said Tuesday that the series provides fans with "an exciting road trip and a 6-game home schedule in 2013."

Louisiana-Monroe will play Tulane in the Louisiana Superdome on Sept. 29, 2012, and Tulane will travel to Malone Stadium on Sept. 14, 2013.

The two schools have met just two previous times - in 2008 when Louisiana-Monroe traveled to New Orleans and in 2002 when Tulane played in Monroe.

The Warhawks wrap up spring practice Saturday with their annual Maroon & Gold game at Malone Stadium. Admission is free. Kickoff is at 11:30 a.m.
