LAKE PROVIDENCE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A River Bend Detention Center employee in Lake Providence has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, and battery.
Police say twenty-year-old Dezavier Turner allegedly showed up at his ex-girlfriends house, and pulled out a gun.
The arrest affidavit says Turner allegedly threatened to "pistol whip" with the hand gun.
The victim was able to run to a neighbors house.
Turner allegedly followed her inside the home, choked her and slapped her.
Turner is also a part time Lake Providence police officer. The gun he threatened the victim with was not issued by the Sheriff's Office.
