NEW ORLEANS (KNOE) - The Rams struck first but West Feliciana struck often in Friday's 3A state championship game.
After trading turnovers to start the game, Richwood got on the board first on a 31-yard touchdown reception by Mississippi State commit Geor'Quarius Spivey.
The Ram lead wouldn't last long - WF quarterback Derek Turner tucked the rock and took it 73 yards to the house to tie the game at 7-7.
After a big stop by the Richwood defense, Turner connected with Clayton Howard for the six-yard score just before the half to put the Saints up 16-7 headed into the locker room.
Arguably the biggest turning point in the game came on the opening kick of the second half.
Saint returner and Louisiana Tech commit Davon "Smoke" Harris weaved his way through would-be Richwood tacklers on his way to an 87 yard touchdown return.
Harris broke the all-class all-purpose championship record with 307 total yards in the Saint win.
