Woman planned to return stolen jewelry, unable to retrieve from pawn shop

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Rachelle Jefferson, 32, has been charged with shoplifting after she allegedly admitted to stealing $2300.00 worth of jewelry.

According to the report, Jefferson returned to the business located in the 300 block of Louisville Avenue and admitted she stole the jewelry and pawned it. Officers said Jefferson then told them she intended to return the stolen jewelry but was unable to get the items back from the pawn shop that she sold them to.

Records show Jefferson was arrested on January 8th after it was discovered a warrant for her arrest had been issued for another incident.

She was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on the shoplifting charge.
