Watch: U.S. Senate and Representatives take oaths of office


WASHINGTON, D.C. (KNOE, C-Span) - U.S. Senator John Kennedy has officially been sworn in Tuesday by Vice President Joe Biden. Congressman Ralph Abraham begins his second term in U.S. Congress.

The ceremony will be carried live by C-SPAN from the U.S. Senate Chamber. KNOE will provide a live stream to C-Span from our website for the event.

At 1:30 p.m. central, C-SPAN is also expected to cover the ceremonial reenactment with Sen.-elect Kennedy and his immediate family from the Old Senate Chamber. Kennedy is former Louisiana State Treasurer.

Kennedy replaces U.S. Senator David Vitter. Vitter did not seek re-election following a failed bid for governor of Louisiana in 2015.

U.S. Congressman Ralph Abraham will begin his second term Tuesday representing northeastern Louisiana. Expect coverage of both ceremonies later today on KNOE, KAQY and KNOE.COM
