MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A disturbing and illegal video, an apparent child pornography, is spreading across the internet.

The video shows an underage girl forcibly performing a sex act on an adult man. Police say sharing any child pornography across any platform is against the law. They say don't share, don't open. Simply delete the video if it comes your way.

Ron Snyder with Maryland State Police said, "We don't know how old this video is. It could have been shot a couple days ago, it could have been shot a couple years ago. It could have been shot in Alabama, it could have been shot in France. Who knows."

Late Monday afternoon, police in Montgomery, Alabama said Jerrell Washington is the person who uploaded the illegal video to Facebook. Washington is being held on one count of possession and dissemination of child pornography.

Also, reports indicate Germaine Moore, 44, turned himself into authorities around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday. The Alabama law enforcement agency's internet crimes unit had issued a warrant for Moore's arrested after they determined he is the man seen in the video. Investigators say Moore's wife was also taken into custody and was not cooperating with police.

Authorities confirm the child in the video has been located and is safe.

Facebook released this statement regarding the incident: “We do not allow the sharing of child exploitative images on Facebook or Messenger -- even to express outrage. Regardless of intention, sharing such imagery is harmful and illegal. When we become aware of such images, we remove them and notify the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. We urge people never to share such content and to report it to local authorities immediately.”
