Original Story: Wed 11:37 AM, Jan 03, 2018
The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice is investigating an attack on a Juvenile Justice Specialist which happened Tuesday morning.
Investigators say the specialist was attacked by several teens around 6:35 am Tuesday. The specialist says the attack began with a 16-year-old offender walking up to him and punching him in the face. He says he tried to restrain the teen and that's when several others jumped him, hitting him around 20 times.
Investigators say the specialist was able to identify some of the attackers, including Jamien Williams and Charles Brown.
Meanwhile, authorities say four juveniles have escaped from Swanson. Three are now back in custody and police are still trying to find the fourth person.
Because of the confidential nature of juvenile records, authorities are not giving us specific information on the escapees at this time. They also would not say whether the escape was connected to the Tuesday morning attack on a Juvenile Justice Specialist.
The Office of Juvenile Justice is working with Louisiana State Police, the U.S. Marshal Task Force and local law enforcement to find the person still on the run.
So far, we've learned of the following arrests connected to Swanson:
Jamien Williams, 19, is charged with battery of a correctional facility employee.
