Tuesday Update: Some power outages could last into midweek

MONROE, La. (KNOE & Entergy) - Tuesday Update: Tuesday morning Entergy is reporting power restored to about all but 600 customers who lost power during Sunday's storms. It is expected to take until Wednesday night to fully restore power in parts of LaSalle Parish.

• Severe weather impacted North Louisiana Sunday, April 2nd causing widespread power outages across the region. Entergy’s North La service area has restored 97% of the originally reported 24,000 power outages, leaving 605 customers without power as of 7:30AM today.
• Damage assessment is complete and restoration efforts are ongoing with additional crews. All customers should be restored Tuesday April 4th by 3PM, except for customers in LaSalle Parish.
• Customers in LaSalle Parish around the communities of Jena, Fellowship and Belah are expected to be restored Wednesday, April 5th by 10pm.
• Customers who sustained damage to their electric box or external wiring will need to contact an electrician to make repairs before power can be restored.
• Entergy would like to remind the public that downed power lines can be deadly and to STAY AWAY from downed power lines.

As of Monday evening, Entergy is reporting about 3,800 customers remain in the dark due to Sunday's storms and tornados. While about 85% of power is restored, some areas in Jena may not have their electricity restored until late Wednesday night. Here's a breakdown of outages and restoration efforts from Entergy:

• Severe weather impacted North Louisiana Sunday, April 2nd causing widespread power outages across the region. Entergy’s North La service area has restored 85% of the originally reported 24,000 power outages, leaving 3,848 customers without power as of 4:00 pm today.
• Damage assessment and restoration efforts are ongoing and additional crews have arrived to assist. Most customers will be restored by 10pm Monday, April 3rd ; however in the areas with extensive damage, restoration will take longer.
• Areas in Ouachita, Franklin, Morehouse, LaSalle, Lincoln and Union Parishes, suffered the most severe damage including downed power lines and broken poles and cross arms.
• Communities in LaSalle Parish, around the Town of Jena, sustained extensive damage to the electric system and will be restored Wednesday, April 5th by 10pm.
• Entergy would like to remind the public that downed power lines can be deadly and to STAY AWAY from downed power lines.
