Sanderia Faye is the award-winning author of The Mourner's Bench. The book is set in rural Arkansas in the late 1960's during the Civil Rights Movement.
The story is told from the perspective of an eight year old girl. She tells the story of the conflict between the southern church members and African-American women who took leadership positions in the movement.
The book talk is free and starts at 2 p.m.
