HAMMOND, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Renaissance Festival in Hammond is happening every weekend until December 11th.
It's an outing where you can see juggling, fire eating and learn about the history of the European Renaissance. More than 30,000 people are expected to attend the festival at some point this year, and Alvon Brumfield, the man who's organizing it all, says why not? It's a festival with a lot to see.
"Its different. I mean, where else can you see two grown men on horses, charge at full speed and knock each other off with a 10 foot poll," Brumfield said. "Well, that, and any redneck with a 6 pack."
