RUSTON, La. (KNOE) - At the beginning of March, Paul E. Slaton in Ruston received a financial donation towards a new building. The school's facility was destroyed by a fire last year.

The president of Louisiana Head Start Association James Evans presented a $5,000 check to Pam Harris, the director of Ruston’s Paul E. Slaton Head Start Center.

The money will be used toward a new permanent site for the center. The head start is currently housed at the Zion Traveler Baptist Church.

Fire destroyed the center’s building on Oakdale Street in October 2017. KNOE does not have word on when a new facility will be built.
