OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A Ouachita Parish woman was arrested on cruelty to a juvenile charges after an investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
According to the arrest warrant, in November investigators were sent to Richwood Middle School to talk with Oarvest Tiffany Jordan's child. The victim said her mother had hit her repeatedly with a belt and punched her with a closed fist. The warrant shows the victim told deputies this was not the first time she had been beaten like this by her mother. The victim told investigators she usually got hit while Jordan was under the influence of marijuana or pills. According to the warrant, during her interview, the victim described being hit with an extension cord, a belt, and a wooden stick from a chair with a nail on it.
Police say Jordan's teen son backed up the story. According to court records, he said his mother kicked his sister out of the house, without shoes, in the middle of the night. The girl said it was because she didn't do the laundry. Jordan's son also said he'd been beaten as well, and he said his mother once pointed a gun at him and said she should shoot him for calling police on her ex-boyfriend.
Oarvest Tiffany Jordan was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on December 30th under a $20,000 bond.
