OPSO Arrests two suspects in homicide investigation

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Investigators have arrested two suspects as a result of a homicide investigation that began Thursday.

Deputies say Nathan Pettit, Jr., of West Monroe, and Melissa Moore, of West Monroe, have been arrested in connection with a car chase and a homicide.
Pettit was arrested after a brief chase in West Monroe Thursday morning while he was driving a stolen vehicle he had previously stolen in Union Parish.

Investigators found both Pettit and Moore were involved in a homicide committed earlier in Ouachita Parish.
The body of the homicide victim, identified as Kimberly Vallery of West Monroe, was discovered later in a rural area of Morehouse Parish.

Pettit is charged with one count of 2nd Degree Murder.
Moore has been booked on one count of Accessory After the Fact, 2nd Degree Murder and one count of Obstruction of Justice.
Both Pettit and Moore are currently being held in Ouachita Correctional Center on the charges.
Additional charges are pending from authorities in both Union and Morehouse Parishes. The investigation is continuing.
