Amethyst Baird is charged with shooting agent Tyler Wheeler five times.
Her boyfriend Jeremy Gullette is charged with accessory after the fact.

It happened during a traffic stop on 1-65 Saturday in Morehouse Parish.
Now their neighbors are speaking out.
They say the crime doesn't surprise them.

"I freaked out, I screamed and I showed my mom. I was like that guy who shot that Tyler Wheeler lived in my house."

Kerra Franks and her Boyfriend now live here in the suspects home. As a matter of fact they helped moved Amethyst Baird and Jeremy Gullett out of the house so they could move in. Right away they knew something wasn't right.

"She said she was involved in a high speed chase in Alexandria. It kind of caught me off guard but at the same time it kind of seemed like they were the type of people to do something like this."

Less than two months later the couple was arrested in connection with the shooting of wildlife and fisheries officer Tyler Wheeler.
Franks says she fears any fallout of knowing the suspects.

"Now i'm a little scared to live here."

Plus she even carries pepper spray everywhere she goes.
They've even changed the locks and make sure they're locked at all times.

"I was like this is a great neighborhood I shouldn't have any problems here," She Said.

Joan Gegenheimar another neighbor says she couldn't believe it.

"This street is very quiet and it's very surprising . It makes you more aware of your surroundings and having kids who play outside it makes you more aware."

Frank says all she can do now is "lock my doors, all the windows are locked."

And breathe a sigh of relief that the suspects have been caught.
