“The big thing for us is that we’re happy to be back in Shreveport-Bossier,” says Greg Hanks, owner of AVC Conventions. “The move to the State Fairgrounds and Hirsch Coliseum enables us to produce a much larger event. We’re bringing in some pretty cool guests that we couldn’t have brought in without adequate space.”
The event will include more than 20 celebrity guests and more than 80 vendors.
Celebrity guests that have been announced for the event include: Jason Mewes (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back); Seth Gilliam (The Walking Dead, The Wire); Johnny Yong Bosch (Trigun, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers); pro wrestling legend Ted DiBiase and more. Guests from the world of comics and animation include James O'Barr (creator of the comic book series The Crow); Bob McLeod (The New Mutants, Spider-Man, G.I. Joe); Tom Cook (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra, Super Friends) and more. For a complete list of guests scheduled to attend Louisiana Comic Con: SBC, visit LouisianaComicConSBC.com. In addition to the special guests, there will also be a huge vendor marketplace selling everything from comic books and original works of art to clothing, classic video games and more. Panel discussions will be hosted throughout both days of the convention. Fan tribute groups from across the South, including Star Wars and Star Trek fan groups, will be in costume and available to take photos with attendees. The event will make use of the entire Hirsch Coliseum as well as the Agriculture Building and two other buildings on the State Fair of Louisiana Fairgrounds. Concessions will be available for purchase.
