FARMERVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - For some, Valentines Day is the loveliest time of the year, but not so much for businesses like the Dean of Flowers in Farmerville.

"Ummm, it's really crazy," says Tiffany Garner.

Garner says it's the busiest time of the year.

"Because the flow of traffic that comes in, they wake up
on Valentines and realize they haven't done anything, and they want it now, now, now," says Garner.

Without a doubt., folks will be doing the last minute shopping this year, but not everyone waited to the last minute.

"We started preparing right after Christmas," says Dean of Flowers owner Alan Futch.

Futch says more than 500 people placed their orders ahead of time and they're not just people living in Farmerville.

"We're doing Monroe, West Monroe, Ruston, Marion, Spearsville,Sterlington, Downsville, Choudrant, Calhoun, we're all over the place," says Futch.

Gettting hundreds of flowers to their proper destinations on time is no easy task for the Dean of Flowers, but but workers tell me after years of trial and error, they've got this system down pat.

"We have five original drivers, three ladies that work the front door,
two lines answering, while our designers are poking flowers," says Garner.

It's simple, but Garner says it works.

"I just know the quality people want and hopefully they'll come back next year," says Garner.

Hopefully bringing more business to the Dean of Flowers, so they can keep working with what Futch says is God's greatest creation.

"We get to work with something so beautiful and get to make people
happy and being able to provide a service to people," says Futch.

A service that continues to withstand the test of time.
