Local FFA member receives $1,000 grant

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (FFA Agricultural Education) - A $1,000 grant has been awarded to FFA member Caitlin McBride of Calhoun, by Rabo AgriFinance.

We are told McBride is a student at West Ouachita High School and is the only grant recipient in the state of Louisiana.

Receiving the grant required the following:

Grant Requirement: Apply if you have an SAE in any of the following areas agricultural communications, sales, services
or technology. In plant, beef, dairy, poultry or swine production or in agricultural processing or food science and
technology.

Open to all US States excluding: Alaska, California, and Hawaii.

The SAE Grant is designed to help FFA members create and enhance their supervised agricultural experience (SAE), a requirement that all FFA members must compete. An SAE requires FFA members to create and operate an agriculture related business, work at an agriculture-related business or conduct an agricultural research experience.

Upon completion, FFA members must submit a comprehensive report regarding their supervised agricultural experience (SAE).

Caitlin McBride is a member of the West Ouachita FFA Chapter of West Monroe, LA, and was selected from hundreds of
applicants nationwide.

The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 649,355 student members who belong to one of 7,859 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
