Department seeks missing water tank following church fire

SPEARSVILLE, La. (Spearsville Fire Department) - The Spearsville Fire District is asking for your help finding an important piece of equipment that went missing following a church fire earlier this week.

Wednesday afternoon, the fire department was dispatched to Pilgrims Rest Church Road in Spearsville for a structure fire.

While in route to this fire, the department's tanker truck lost the portable water tank off the side of the truck.

The department was told by several people that saw it along the road where is was, it was in the area of Pilgrims Rest Church Road and Smith Lee Road near the Little Hope Cemetery.

But, by the time firefighters went to retrieve it, the portable tank was gone. The potable tank was a 3500 gallon "Fold DA Tank" and it is estimated to cost around $2300.00

The department is asking anyone that might have picked it up or know where it is to please let the Spearsville Fire Department know so they can retrieve it.

The church was destroyed in the fire.
