Arrest made in Snapchat dog shooting viral video

MOREHOUSE PARISH, La. (KNOE) - The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office says an arrest has been made in connection with a Snapchat video which showed the shooting of a dog.

Tobias Conway of Mer Rouge has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The sheriff's office says more charges are possible.

The graphic video went viral recently on multiple social media sites, including Facebook. It appears to show multiple people involved in the shooting of a dog. Authorities say the video was shot on Handy Hill Road in the Mer Rouge area. Mer Rouge is near Bastrop in northeast Louisiana.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear at this time, but the video shows two clips which appeared butted together. The first clip shows the dog laying on the ground, dying after being shot. The second clip shows someone shooting the dog from a distance while another person encourages the shooter to fire while the dog yelps. Two gunshots can be heard during this time. Someone can be heard laughing in the clips.

Authorities say more arrests are possible.
