Zak Breland started the event last year, in honor of former Sterlington Officer David Elahi. This year, the ride is a tribute to every law enforcement officer in the state that lost their life in the line of duty.

"We hope to double it this year," said Breland. "That's all we can ask is for it to get bigger and bigger."

Breland says almost 200 people participated last year and nearly $10,000 was raised. He says the money will be used to help the families of the fallen officers.

"It's going to send all the kids and spouses of the fallen officers to a retreat," says Breland. "There, they can get with other people who have gone through the same thing."

People can register for the ride at Bleu Bayou Harley-Davidson in Monroe, starting at 8 a.m. The ride is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
