Tammi Arender anchors and produces the 5:00 pm news. Tammi also contributes feature stories highlighting the people, places, and things of Louisiana.
Tammi became a TV news anchor and reporter at KNOE-TV in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981. I’ve worked for TV stations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Little Rock, Arkansas, Charleston, West Virginia and Nashville, Tennessee. She returned home to northeast Louisiana to be near family. She currently anchors the 5:00 pm news at KNOE-TV in Monroe. Tammi is also the co-host of LaRider TV, a motorcycle travel show that airs in Monroe and Baton Rouge. Tammi contributes to other programs that air on KNOE-TV like This Week in Louisiana Agriculture and LaRider TV.
Tammi also anchored the Rural Evening News for RFD-TV and Rural Radio SiriusXM80 based in Nashville. RFD-TV is the agriculture network with programming focused on rural America. Tammi was raised on a soybean and cotton farm in Tallulah, Louisiana.
Tammi continues her freelance work with outlets such as Tennessee Crossroads. Crossroads is a weekly show that airs in Tennessee on PBS. Tammi has also contributed to national shows such as Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, The Nashville Network, Good Morning America, and CBS News This Morning.
Tammi also uses her gift of gab in other ways as well -- acting. Since she was asked to be a reporter in the movie remake of one of her favorite childhood shows, “Dukes of Hazzard”, she's gone on to do other films such as “Pitch Perfect 2”, “The Nice Guys”, “Enemies Among Us”, “Twilight: Breaking Dawn ”, “Alabama Moon”, “Private Valentine: Blonde and Dangerous”, and “Flag of My Father", just to name a few.
Tammi also loves to ride horses and Harleys! In the equine arena, she's ridden competitively in barrels, western pleasure and cutting. And as far as Harleys go, she currently rides her own Softtail Deluxe, custom painted with the mark of Louisiana, fleur de lis.
Her current passion keeps her in the kitchen during her free time. She's even taken her cooking to the next level by coming in first runner-up on the TNT show “On the Menu”, where her White Chocolate Cheesecake with praline sauce had Emeril LaGasse saying it was one of the best cheesecakes he'd ever tasted!
