JACKSON, Ark. (AP) - The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for areas of northwest Mississippi with snow accumulations ranging from 2 to 8 inches. The weather service says flurries could continue into Tuesday with highs in the 30s and 40s.
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Conservative author and TV commentator Angela McGlowan says she's running for Congress in northern Mississippi. She held a news conference Monday in Oxford to announce that she's seeking the Republican nomination. The GOP is hoping to unseat Democrat Travis Childers, who has held the 1st District seat since mid-2008.
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Hinds County Circuit Judge Winston Kidd has postponed a motion hearing in a lawsuit stemming from a 2009 crash that killed two doctors. The Clarion-Ledger reports that Kidd delayed the hearing because 1 of the attorneys in the case was snowed-in.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - No ticker tape, no convertibles, but the parade the city is throwing to honor the Saints for their Super Bowl victory will fit right in during Carnival in New Orleans. The parade, which starts at the Louisiana Superdome at 5 p.m. Tuesday, will have 10 floats and 12 marching bands.
