MONROE (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo and a Monroe police officer were both sent to the hospital after an early evening car accident.
The crash happened just before six Monday evening in Richland Parish at the intersection of Highways 133 and 15. Mayor Mayo was a passenger in the car with Monroe Police Officer Reginald Brown. They were driving North on Highway 15 when another car - driven by Linda Wiley from Rayville- failed to stop at the intersection causing the accident. All three were taken to Saint Francis with minor injuries.
