EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) - A former executive at Murphy USA has been convicted of 3 felony theft counts by a jury that recommended 10 years' probation and a $30,000 fine.
Prosecutors said Paul Wells, former vice president of marketing at Murphy USA, designed a scheme in which a company begun by his wife double-billed Murphy for $54,000 worth of T-shirts promoting the oil refining and marketing company.
After Tuesday's verdicts and sentence recommendations, Circuit Judge Hamilton Singleton set Wells' sentencing for Dec. 3.
